KEY RESULTS FOR SHIPMENTS IN MAY 2026:
– Shipments: 217,36 Mlbs (+2,6%)
– May sales: 138,75 Mlbs (+55,9%)
– New crop 2026 sales: 92,01 Mlbs (+40,0%)
– Total sales until date: 2.651,29 Mlbs (-0,5%)
– Carryin: 483,81 Mlbs (-3,8%)
– Crop intake: 2.690,84 Mlbs (-0,8%)
– Total available quantity (current crop + surplus from crop 24): 3,120.83 Mlbs (-1.2%)
– Total shipped: 2.213,03 Mlbs (-2,2%)
– Total sold but not shipped: 438.26 million pounds (+8.9%)
– Total unsold: 469,54 Mlbs (-5,2%)
– Shipments to Spain in May: 13.31 million pounds (-0.4%) (a total increase of 15.3%)
– Shipments to Europe in May: 58.77 million pounds (+13.9%) (an overall increase of 4.9%)
– Key countries with successful shipments: Canada, China, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Morocco.
– Major countries with negative shipments: the domestic market, Japan, South Korea, India and the United Arab Emirates.
Based on these figures, there would be a carryover for the next harvest in 2026 of between 500 and 550 million pounds.
The outlook for these results is positive and suggests that the market supports the current strong price levels and stability. There may even be some attempts to raise prices further.
It is worth noting that sales of the new crop are better than last year’s figures but do not come close to those of previous years; for example, in May 2024, sales of the new crop stood at 173 million pounds, with a similar harvest.
